The only instrument that is being used during acupuncture is needles. An acupuncturist will not use only one but several needles that they strategically place all over your body. They are small and thin and can easily penetrate the outer layers of the skin. In the early years, the first needles were made of copper, bronze, iron, silver or gold.
Now, in modern medicine, acupuncture needles are made out of stainless steel shaft and a copper handle that come in different lengths. Although there are different widths to the needles, it is no wider than an animal whisker. Any more than that will may result in discomfort for the patient.
At AWCOF, we know that many patients get anxious about getting acupuncture especially because we use needles. Rest assured that our licensed acupuncturists are highly trained so you won't experience any unwanted side effects during and after the procedure. Call us for more details.
